Duff has competed in over 240 races (from 5k to 50k ultras) and is passionate about the sport of running.
He has completed 65 marathons, including Boston, Toronto, New York, Chicago, Niagara Falls, Quebec City, Montreal, Big Sur California, London England, Jerusalem Israel, Berlin Germany, Athens Greece, Istanbul Turkey, and running ultras, such as Laugevegur Iceland 55 km and Two Oceans South Africa 56k.
Following his love of running, but being frugal, he has been a successful Pace Rabbit - Around the Bay (3hr), Toronto, Mississauga and Ottawa (4hr & 4:15hr).
In his quest to share his passion he is the Vice President of Achilles Canada ( a running club that assists people with different abilities to run in mainstream events) Their motto: …” running beyond disability”.
He has also instructed a number of marathon clinics (2007 - 2013 Running Room (Beaches) Toronto)
With CityRuns, he is looking forward to sharing, with his running friends, a unique perspective of running in the city.
Neal St. Jacques
Neal has been involved with running for more than 35 years, including track and field, half, and full marathons, including Atlanta, Boston, and Berlin. In addition, his daily running routes over the years have taken him from the streets of Delhi,
India, and the beaches of Australia's Gold Coast, through to the hills of California, and the paths of Germany's Black Forest.
Since 1987 (training in 86) for his first marathon in Atlanta, he has since gone on to run in over 10 marathons and even winning his age group in some events. Neal's marathon experiences include Boston, Toronto and Berlin.
He also recalls running in Ottawa (after doing his homework) in minus 30 degree celsius weather and still enjoying it!
John Rose is a retired bookseller who runs. Or perhaps a runner who retired from bookselling. He started running in 1978, at the height of the “jogging” fad, and just kept going, with a slight hiatus in the nineties. He is a member of the Beaches Runners Club as well as the Marathon Readers Book Club.
He has completed eight marathons, including those in Ottawa, Washington and New York. He has completed more than a dozen Half Marathons, including Hamilton, Toronto, Burlington and Mississauga. He has run several middle and short-distance runs including the famous Around The Bay 30K Road Race and the Tom Longboat Island 10K, both many times over.
Maggie started her running career later in life and ran her first marathon at age 55. Since then she has run a total of 15 races including 30 km races - Around the Bay and Midsummer Run and has completed 6 marathons in Boston, New York, Berlin, Hamilton and Toronto.
Besides running, Maggie is an avid cyclist and participates annually in the charity bike ride Tour for Kids riding 400 km over 4 days to raise funds for camps for children with cancer (Camp Oochigeas, Quality and Trillium).
Maggie is a member of the Beaches Runners Club and the Beaches Cycling Club She is a certified Life Coach and loves the camaraderie of running in a group and brings this enthusiasm to our guided runs.
Maria's love of running began in 1993 and spent many years participating in 5 and 10 km fun runs. In 2000 she joined the Running Room and completed her first marathon in Toronto. She was hooked! The past 15 years have been filled with many more half and full marathons including, Boston, London England and Around the Bay, the oldest race in North America.
Maria's greatest running reward has been working in organizations where she has led and inspired groups to run for fun, fitness and good health!
